Carmen Miranda (born Maria do Carmo Miranda da Cunha, 1909-1955) was a Portuguese-Brazilian singer famous as "the lady in the tutti-frutti hat." Beginning her career on Broadway, she found stardom on the silver screen. Her signature look was based on costumes she wore in the 1943 film The Gang's All Here.
