Carols in the Domain is an annual Australian Christmas concert event held in the Domain Gardens in Sydney. It began in 1983, and features many national and international performers and guest appearances. The concert is broadcast around Australia on the Seven Network and simulcast on Smooth FM.
The 1996 concert included a performance from Sesame Street Live, performing to archival album audio. The cast performs sections of "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" (from A Sesame Street Christmas), bookending the Count singing "All I Want for Christmas (Is My Two Front Teeth)" (from Merry Christmas from Sesame Street). The characters return again for the finale.
