Cartoonist Profiles is a magazine about the cartooning industry, published from 1969 to 2005 by editor Jed Hurd. In the September 1981 issue (#51), the magazine featured a six-page cover story on The Muppets comic strip, which debuted in newspapers on September 21st.
The strip's creators, Guy and Brad Gilchrist, told the story of how the strip was started, their experiences working with Jim Henson and Michael K. Frith, and their work process. The issue also contained a one-page article on an exhibit at the Museum of Cartoon Art of original Muppet character design sketches as well as strips from The Muppets.
