Knickerbocker was a toy company founded in the mid-19th century in New York, and takes its name from a nickname for the city's residents. Over the years, it was well known for its high quality teddy bears and its popular Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls.

The company contracted with Children's Television Workshop from 1975 to 1982 to produce toys, dolls and other Sesame character items.
