The Milton Bradley Company is a game company established in 1860. One of the company's first games was The Game of Life, first published in 1860 and still in print today. Milton Bradley is also known for the games Battleship (1943), Candy Land (1949), Stratego (1961), Operation (1965), Twister (1966) and Connect Four (1974).
Children's Television Workshop first contracted with the Milton Bradley Company in 1973 to produce Sesame Street puzzles under the Playskool label. Milton Bradley and Playskool also acquired the licenses for The Muppet Show and Fraggle Rock, and produced a variety of puzzles, games and toys for all three.
The Sesame Street license continued when the company was bought by Hasbro in 1984. Hasbro still maintains the Milton Bradley and Playskool brands.
