Question About This Category

I saw that this category was created to replace the "Publications" category I had made. And I was wondering --- some of the items in the "Locations" category might be a good fit for this as well, such as the Woodland Valley Library. Should I add those? And what about the radio station entries? George B. (talk) 22:47, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi, George! Here's how we've been defining culture: "Holidays, games, companies, societies, and other things which inform the cultural worlds of specific Muppet/Henson series." Basically, it's "culture" in the sense of beliefs, politics, aspects of every day life, and not strictly in the sense of, say, "high culture" like the library, and by no means limited to just printed material or communication. Generally, locations aren't listed under culture unless they're themselves part of that culture, in the sense that Pangaea is, for example. So I'd say now on the library, but something like Mouse School might fit. And definitely radio stations, which might work better here than in locations anyway, as they function in the series as call letters and sounds rather than physical radio stations. Take a look at some of the other culture categories, and see how we've been handling it. It might give you some ideas for other additions. Fraggle Rock Culture is one of our best examples right now. -- Andrew Leal (talk) 05:24, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
Ah, I see! Okay --- just one other question then --- I notice that Pangaea is listed under both Culture and Locations. So for those locations that I'm adding the culture category too, would it be best to leave the location category as well? I mean, obviously yes for the Mouse School, but not so sure on the radio stations. George B. (talk) 16:16, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
Unless a physical set or precise location is mentioned, if they're just numbers on the dial and call letters/music heard over the radio, I'd change them. They were probably just put there for lack of any other place. Any physical set/location, however, should always stay in locations, regardless of other categorizations. -- Andrew Leal (talk) 18:16, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
Got it, thanks! George B. (talk) 00:27, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
