Has anyone thought of creating a catagory for the many commercial projects undertaken by the London creature shop as the list is huge(Honey Monster, Flat Eric, Monkey, Snuggles Bear to name but a few. There are also a small number of stage productions such as Dr Doolittle which might be of interest. -- 82.2.237.231 11:49, February 7, 2007

Hi! Well, we already have The Honey Monster, Flat Eric, and a couple others in Category:Commercials Characters. We hadn't really thought of a seperate category (right now, commercials are commercials, including Muppet characters and Creatures, and anything in-between like some of Jim Henson's experimental industrial films). We're definitely short on info regarding the Creature Shop commercials on the whole, though, so any additions would indeed be welcome! -- Andrew Leal (talk) 17:01, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

That was a speedy reply, Andrew. As it goes I might be able to shed a little light on the London workshops commercial output as I was involved in a good few of them myself as a mechanical designer. I started at the Creature shop on The Flintstones and stayed there right through to its closure. Off the top of my head I can remember The Caspari Horse, for a German sauerkraut company (very strange), The Bärenmarke Bear, another German oddity, the Specsavers sloths, the Sony Vega chest burst alien, Duracell Bunny world cup ads, various P-P-P Penguin ads, Zero Gravity from the Milkyway ads, Chester Cheeto, the sponge shagging headgehogs for Spontex (one of my favs), Vincent Vitalite the singing sun flower, the Snuggles bear and a few of his friends for the US, and these are just a few I can think of at the mo that have not been mentioned already. If You're interested I can try to find some pics of the various projects for you to post and maybe dig out some more info regarding all the projects that have slipped my mind for now. All the best Ady Parish
