I like this category idea. However, I'm not sure about how it ranks in relation to Category:Spoofs. Should it be limited to puppets specifically crafted as caricatures of people, or should it also include those who spoof specific people, but the puppet is basically recycled with slight variation? (I'm thinking especially of H. Ross Parrot, which had existed as a random Sesame Street parrot since the early 80s, and Meryl Sheep)? --Andrew, Aleal 00:21, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

Hm, good point. Maybe we should have Caricature Muppets for characters built as a very specific celebrity, and then another for Parody Muppets to include Dr. Feel, Placido Flamingo, Meryl Sheep and Ross Parrot. What do you think? -- Scarecroe 00:44, 29 January 2006 (UTC)
I think Dr. Feel might be borderline, since while he's an Anything Muppet, the features and dressing suggest a more deliberate attempt at caricature, whereas the Ross Parrot puppet simply had a name change and a tie slapped on (as all the caricature was in his dialogue and Jerry Nelson's vocal impression). Maybe it would be easier to just redefine the category, as including Muppets who in appearance or personality, deliberately parody or caricature real-life personalities? (As distinct from Colambo or the Miami Mice, who are spoofs rather than caricatures, and rather vague ones at that). Not quite sure where this leaves Bob Hack (outside of his being a Dinosaur and thus a creature rather than a Muppet anyway). --Andrew, Aleal 00:56, 29 January 2006 (UTC)
You may also want to consider that some of these go in to a "gift" category. David Lazer's was a gift as was James Frawley's. Others were Jon Stone, Michael Eisner, Michael Caine...but I doubt that there are pix as they were given privately. You may find David Lazer in the Muppet Meeting Films. The Tim Curry puppet may have made it "on air" or in a documentary, but that was also a gift to the periormer. --Vard. "User:Vard 20:18. 29 January 2006
