Walter and Gary Playhouse Video

Parking this here until we know what to do with it. —Scott (message me) 03:53, March 12, 2012 (UTC)

I think the one lying on top of the VCR is Muppet Treasures. -- Ken (talk) 04:02, March 12, 2012 (UTC)
It is Muppet Treasures; and the ones on the rack are The Muppet Revue, Rock Music with the Muppets, Children's Songs and Stories, and Muppet Moments. -- Brad D. (talk) 05:34, March 12, 2012 (UTC)
Since we're looking at this, what Chef sketch is that? -- Ken (talk) 05:37, March 12, 2012 (UTC)
That Swedish Chef sketch is the lobsters one. --Minor muppetz 12:15, March 12, 2012 (UTC)
When watching this scene on the DVD, I noticed three additional videos on a shelf in the background, behind Walter. --Minor muppetz 21:00, March 20, 2012 (UTC)

First Four Released in 1984?[]

Playhouse-copyright

I have all ten videos, and the first four (The Muppet Revue, The Kermit and Piggy Story, Children's Songs & Stories, & Rock Music) are all copyrighted 1984. Should I change their pages to list 1984 as their release dates, or should I leave them as they are? (HairMetalLives 23:47, 3 September 2007 (UTC))

That would probably be a good idea. --Minor muppetz 02:30, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Actually, we had this debate on some other video at one point (I've forgotten which). The copyright date can predate the release date. For example, if they made the first 4 and then didn't release them until the whole set was ready. So I would say to leave them unless you can find that they were truly released in 1984 as well. -- Wendy (talk) 02:39, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
What's the evidence for 1985? If the videos say 1984 on them, then that's a vote for '84. -- Danny (talk) 03:02, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
I don't think they were all released at the same time. I've only seen four of these, but the videos ended with a promo for the whole collection, with varying legnth. There is a version of the promo with the four mentioned, another promo which also included Muppet Treasures, Gonzo Presents Muppet Weird Stuff, and Country Music with the Muppets, and then another promo with all ten of them. On the promo that has all ten advertised, I recall there being some sort of logo after Rock Music with the Muppets (which I think is also on the promo advertising the first seven) and Country Music with the Muppets. Also, at the beginning of the promo, there are a variety of clips from different videos, but all are from the first three videos (though on some tape some of the clips are different). --Minor muppetz 03:32, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
I don't know when any of them were released (because I don't have the boxes), but the accompanying screenshot shows that the program was produced in 1984. —Scott (talk) 03:58, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
All four boxes are copyrighted 1985. I feel like an idiot; didn't occur to me to check them. Oh, well. We have our answer! On an unrelated note, what would you guys say about me adding a couple screenshots from each video of the original link material? I can do that for nine of the ten. (HairMetalLives 04:08, 4 September 2007 (UTC))
I think screenshots for the linking material is a great idea. They're the original parts of the tapes that make each one unique apart from just being a collection of songs and sketches. —Scott (talk) 04:21, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Awesome! I'll get to work. The only one I cannot capture is Gonzo Presents Muppet Weird Stuff. If anyone can take some screen shots of Gonzo in his "villa," that would be awesome. (HairMetalLives 04:51, 4 September 2007 (UTC))
This wiki already has screenshots from Gonzo Presents Muppet Weird Stuff. They are in the articles Gonzo's Landlord and Bide-A-Wee Trailer Court. --Minor muppetz 20:14, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
