Charles Rosen (1930-2012) was a production designer and art director who designed the street set on Sesame Street. He was credited as art director for the first season.
Rosen was art director on urban-set 1960s films such as Blast of Silence and A Man Called Adam (with Louis Armstrong). He was production designer on Mel Brooks' The Producers (with Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder) and worked on NET drama series. After Sesame Street, he was art director on Taxi Driver. Other film credits as production designer ranged from the remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Flashdance, and My Favorite Year (with Peter O'Toole) to less acclaimed fare such as My Stepmother Is an Alien, Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot (with Sylvester Stallone), and The Whoopee Boys.
