Cher (b. 1946) is a singer, actress, and director who first rose to fame in the 1960s and 1970s as half of the performance duo Sonny & Cher. Her movie credits include The Witches of Eastwick (with Susan Sarandon and Michelle Pfeiffer), Mermaids (with Winona Ryder), and Moonstruck (with Nicolas Cage).
One of her first projects in her solo career was hosting the self-titled television variety series Cher on which the Muppets appeared in 1975. She was announced as an upcoming guest star for The Muppet Show season four in The Muppet Show Fan Club Newsletter (Volume Two, Number Two), however she never appeared.
In 2004, she featured in a "My Favorite Sesame Street Moments" segment for Episode 4075.
