Cheryl Wagner is a Canadian actress, puppeteer, producer, and writer who performed Ma Gorg on Fraggle Rock. She also served as the regular assistant performer for Jim Henson's characters Cantus the Minstrel and Convincing John.
Wagner's performing career began in tandem with her then-husband Ron Wagner, with the couple forming the P.E.I. Puppet People, a puppet theater company based in Prince Edward Island, in the early 1970s. This was followed by the formation of the Merrytime Clown and Puppet Company, a theater company mixing puppetry, clowning, and street theater, in 1977.
Wagner has served as producer and writer on successful Canadian children's programs like Panda Bear Daycare, Ruffus the Dog, and The Big Comfy Couch together with Rob Mills. She also puppeteered on Today's Special (as Mrs. Pennypacker), Mr. Dressup, and The Mighty Jungle.
In 2010, she and her daughter Harmony created the media company Periscope Pictures, which has produced various short films and the 2011 preschool web series BunnyBop!
