"Chicken Crossing" is an animated Sesame Street song about the importance of crossing the street safely, inspired by the "Why did the chicken cross the road?" joke.
When a baby chick hatches from its egg, it finds the nearby road is full of fast and dangerous cars. The mother hen sings to the child about how to cross the street safely - hold a grown-up's hand (or wing) and wait until the traffic signal brings oncoming traffic to a halt.
