Choose Your Own Adventure is an interactive children's book series (often termed gamebooks) originally published by Bantam Books from 1979 to 1998. The format places the reader as a second person protagonist who gets caught up in harrowing circumstances or a challenging predicament. Decisions made would lead to branching events on non-chronological pages, often resulting in doom or death.

Bantam launched its own subseries and spinoffs, such as the Time Machine books, and other publishers would use the form over the years (without the specific Choose Your Own Adventure branding), such as Ballantine's Find Your Fate series (with Indiana Jones, James Bond, and others). Other branded series featured Carmen Sandiego and Nintendo characters.

The form was used on occasion for Muppet books as well. The first, 1984's You Are the Star of a Muppet Adventure, came during the heyday of the book form. Author Ellen Weiss also contributed to the Find Your Fate books. The 1996 book Find Your Way to Muppet Treasure Island also used the format.

Full page ads for the original Choose Your Own Adventure books appeared in Muppet Magazine issue 7 and issue 9 (promoting the Time Machine series as well).
