Chris Jenkyns (1924-2011) was a writer and storyboard artist for animation, particularly the series of Jay Ward. He was a storyboard artist for the first season of Muppet Babies.
Jenkyns studied fine art at several scools including the Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles and the Paris Academie Julian. He illustrated children's books before moving into animation. He worked at the studio Playhouse Pictures designing commercials, such as a Ford campaign with a talking dog. He joined Jay Ward as a freelance writer (and supplying the storyboards) on supporting segments for Rocky and His Friends and The Bullwinkle Show. He contributed primarily to the earliest "Fractured Fairy Tales," the mishaps of Dudley Do-Right, and "Aesop and Son." He remained at Ward as one of only two writers for The Adventures of Hoppity Hooper and later on George of the Jungle.[1]
Outside of Ward, Jenkyns wrote or storyboarded for The Alvin Show, several 1970s and early 1980s Hanna-Barbera series (including early episodes of The Smurfs), Care Bears, and Bobby's World. He worked on the animated titles for the movie Grease and The Carol Burnett Show.
