Cindy Chock is a costume designer and dressmaker who worked for the New York Muppet Workshop from 1972 to 1978. She was credited as a production assistant on The Muppets Valentine Show and made costumes for The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence. She was a principal builder on the full-bodied costumes of Sesame Street characters for the Ice Follies shows and sketches in the 1970s.
Apart from the Muppets, Chock created costumes for the Mark Morris Dance Company, the Joffrey Ballet, and various Broadway productions.[1] She worked for six years at the Parsons School of Design as a teacher of pattern making, garment construction, and draping. She has since operated her own dressmaking business and worked as a sewing instructor at various schools and the Theatrical Wardrobe Union in New York City. She was on-call tailor for CBS Studios, working on repairs and alterations for news programs and soap operas including As the World Turns.
