Clyde of Africa is a 1963 children's book centered around photography by Ken Heyman of a lion cub, the titular Clyde, taken in Kenya.[1] Michael Mason wrote the narrative captions.
The book was read multiple times on Captain Kangaroo, including in 1966 and 1969.

- Bob reads Clyde of Africa to the viewer in Sesame Street Episode 0031, although not using the text verbatim.
- Mr. Hooper, paging through the book in Episode 0088, says "it's a lot of fun" and nice to "see animals eating, playing, resting" (which segues into an animal insert).
- Bob is heard reading the story for the kids at the beginning of scene 4 in Episode 0140.
