Blur - Coffee And TV (Official Music Video)

"Coffee & TV" is a song by British rock band Blur. With lyrics and lead vocals by guitarist Graham Coxon (as opposed to usual frontman Damon Albarn), it was released as the second single from their 1999 album 13.

For the song's music video, Jim Henson's Creature Shop created an anthropomorphic milk carton, known as "Milky," who starred as the video's protagonist. The video followed Milky's perilous search for Coxon, who appears as a missing person on Milky's side, and includes a brief but tragic romance with a strawberry milk carton. At least two versions of Milky were used for filming: a scale model (also used for the strawberry carton), and a full-bodied costume (worn by Peter Burroughs) that was filmed via green screen and composited to scale into scenes.

The video was directed by the duo of Hammer & Tongs (director Garth Jennings and producer Nick Goldsmith), who had collaborated with the Creature Shop earlier in 1999 on the music video for Supergrass' "Pumping on Your Stereo," and would again on the feature film The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. The video won several awards, including Best Video at the MTV Europe Awards and the NME Awards.
