Colin Purves is a puppeteer who was one of the three people in London to be selected from a 1994 Muppeteer Workshop to join the Jim Henson Company. He puppeteered background characters on Muppet Treasure Island and later served as an additional puppeteer on Muppets Most Wanted.
Purves is currently an assistant puppeteer on the British Sesame Street co-production The Furchester Hotel, while also playing the occasional guest character (such as Gonger in "Very Important Porcupine" or a sheep in "Yodel-Ay-Hee-Hoo!".) He also worked on the Creature Shop commercial Flymo.
Apart from his Henson work, Purves puppeteered on Spitting Image - New Year's Eve Special, Our House, Squeak! and Captain Abercromby.
