Community Coffee is a Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based company which hired Muppets, Inc. to produce ads similar to the Wilkins Coffee series with Wilkins and Wontkins in 1959. The campaign continued, off and on, with new spots produced in color in 1966 and again in 1969.
Thirty-seven 10-second ads were made, most reshoots of Wilkins ads but with new scripts and longer variations added later. The final 1969 campaign also involved cloth Wilkins and Wontkins hand puppets as premiums.[1]
