"Consider Yourself," from Lionel Bart's musical Oliver!, is a song about becoming fast friends. It has been performed by the Muppets on several occasions.
Performances[]
- In episode 104 of The Jimmy Dean Show, to assuage Rowlf the Dog's self esteem, Jimmy Dean and his guests sing a rousing rendition of "Consider Yourself" against a sign that reads "WE LOVE ROWLF".
- Rowlf performed the song later in The Pied Piper of Astroworld to the Pied Piper (played by Soupy Sales) and a group of children.
- On Sesame Street, the song was performed by Gordon and a family of Anything Muppets (Frank Oz, Caroll Spinney, Jim Henson, Loretta Long, and Bob McGrath) in Episode 0001. The song portion of the sketch was cut on DVD releases.
- Flip Wilson and two Whatnots (played by Jim Henson and Frank Oz) performed the song on The Flip Wilson Show in 1971.
- The song was performed by the Muppets on episode 207 of The Muppet Show to welcome Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy to The Muppet Theatre. The group included Kermit the Frog, Fozzie Bear, Uncle Deadly, Scooter, Janice, Link Hogthrob, Gonzo, and various chickens, pigs and monsters.
