An unseen voice (Jerry Nelson) poses the question of the day - which of these two people is Ernie and Cookie Monster?
The two initially scoff, finding it easy to tell which is which. However, they notice they both share the same height, cute eyes, smiley mouth, wiggly fingers, and interest in cookies. Unable to find any discerning characteristics, they become paranoid and wonder if they're actually the other person.
Soon, a Green Anything Muppet boy (Nelson) appears and settles the issue. He points out that while they're similar in some ways, Cookie Monster has blue fur and googley eyes, while Ernie sports a striped shirt, making them easy to tell apart. The pair are relieved, but now wonder who the boy is; he has hair like Bert, a coat like Sherlock Hemlock, and the green complexion of Kermit the Frog. "Maybe he Allen Ludden," wonders Cookie as the pair argue over the boy's identity.
