Prairie Dawn and Cookie Monster are out in the woods on a hike, but Cookie Monster has a hard time thinking about anything besides cookies. Prairie tries to get him to appreciate their natural surroundings instead. She points out a beautiful cloud in the sky, which Cookie interprets as a marshmallow cookie. He's disappointed to find it's too high to reach and eat.
Prairie then shows him the majesty of the trees, but the brown trunks remind him of chocolate fudge cookies. Prairie stops him from trying to eat the tree. She proceeds to find some pretty flowers, but their sweet aroma reminds Cookie of the sweet smell of cookies and tries to eat them too. Prairie halts him and states that if he eats all these things, there won't be any for anyone to look at and appreciate. She then reveals a surprise she packed for after lunch - a cookie. He gobbles it down and notes that nature is a great place to eat cookies.
