Steve Whitmire talks about environmental activism

In 2004, Justin Marquee interviewed Steve Whitmire at a fashion event for animals. Whitmire discusses his passion in doing work for environmental issues, and explains that the Jim Henson Company allows him to use Kermit the Frog at the events.
He discusses Kermit's involvement with the Environmental Media Association who award TV shows and films that incorporate environmental themes into their content. He also speaks of the Shambala Reservation which he is involved in with Tippi Hedren.
Whitmire explains that he and his wife have done humane society work and fostered several cats, and says he enjoys spending his free time driving a tractor and working on his property.
