Cosmopolitan is a magazine for women first published in 1886. In its initial conception, it was a family magazine, which turned towards a literary magazine before settling into the format it is famous for today in the 1960s. Also known as "Cosmo", articles often delve into topics of sex, health, celebrities, fashion, and self-improvement. The magazine is printed in 34 languages and distributed in more then 100 countries.

The magazine was spoofed in the 1981 Miss Piggy Cover Girl Fantasy Calendar. The image was also produced as a poster.
