Cougar Town was a single-camera sitcom that aired from 2009 to 2015 about a recently divorced woman, Jules Cobbs, in her 40s facing the challenges with her teenage son, her ex-husband, and her wine-loving friends who together make up her dysfunctional, but supportive and caring, extended family. The show takes place in a fictional town of Gulfhaven, Florida, which is nicknamed "Cougar Town" because of its high school team mascot, a cougar. The show was originally about older women ("cougars") dating younger men, but the show quickly took a different turn as Jules Cobbs began to pursue men her own age. The first three seasons aired on ABC, with the series moving to TBS for the remaining three seasons.
