"Counting Is Wonderful" is a Sesame Street song sung by the Count, in which he rhapsodizes about the wonder of counting. He gleefully points out that you can count in any mood, add things up, and keep track of how much of anything you might have.
The song was first performed by the Count in Episode 0751, where it serves as the official anthem for National Counting Day. He and the cast later sang an abridged version of the song to Big Bird in Episode 3396. This version was released on the two 1997 albums listed below.
Big Bird recorded his own version of the song for the StoryMagic version of I Can Count to Ten and Back Again.
The Count, aided by Elmo, Abby Cadabby, and Ernie, performed an abridged version of the song as a part of The Best Friends Band "Counting Songs" medley in 2023.
