Creature from the Black Lagoon was a 1954 American monster film, and regarded as one of the classic monster movies of its day. Originally filmed in 3-D, the film generated two sequels, and the Creature itself, known as the Gill-man, has become one of Universal's classic movie monsters.

- In episode 225 of The Jimmy Dean Show, Rowlf the Dog emerges from the lake in his scuba gear. He introduces himself to the crowd saying, "You remember me, the Creature from the Black Lagoon?"
- In the Fall 1983 issue of Muppet Magazine, the Creature from the Black Lagoon is mentioned in the Mondo Muppet Monster Quiz.
- Baby Animal appears as the Creature in Muppet Babies episode "Remote Control Cornballs."
