"Crossing the Street" is a Sesame Street song by Grover.
He has plans to meet Bert in the park, and his mommy has given him permission to cross the street all by himself. Grover sings about the milestone, but when the light signals he can cross, he hesitates. He starts to think about a negative outcome of crossing by himself, like being abducted by a lion on the other side of the street. When the signal arrives again, he instead starts thinking that on the other side, he could find a magic penny with a genie. By the time he's finally ready to cross, Bert finds him, having been waiting in the park. He holds Grover's hand as they cross, meaning Grover's milestone will have to wait for another day.
