The seventh D23 Expo was held on September 9-11, 2022 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. The Muppets participated in a number of panels and live events during September 10.

Magic in the Air: 30 Years of The Muppet Christmas Carol[]

The event celebrated the anniversary of the film with a live panel/show hosted by Nina West. The event featured appearances by Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Robin the Frog, Fozzie Bear, Charles Dickens, some penguins, and the Singing Food, along with a panel of director Brian Henson, songwriter Paul Williams, costume designer Polly Smith, and Muppet Performer Dave Goelz. During the panel, it was announced that the film would re-release on Disney+ with "When Love Is Gone" in tact. The song was then performed live by Jodi Benson (voice of Ariel in The Little Mermaid). The event concluded with a medley of songs from the film ("One More Sleep 'til Christmas," "Scrooge," "Bless Us All," "Thankful Heart" and "It Feels Like Christmas") as performed by West and the Muppets in their costumes from the film. Craig Shemin helped in producing the event. He and Jim Lewis co-wrote the Muppets' interview section.[1][2]

Puppeteers for the event include Dave Goelz, Eric Jacobson, Peter Linz, David Rudman (doubling for Eric as Fozzie), and Matt Vogel, with Alice Dinnean, Drew Massey, Tim Lagasse, and Michelan Sisti.
