DJ Gramann II is a costume designer and draper who worked in the costume department for Jim Henson Productions from 1990 to 1995.[1] At Henson, Gramann worked as a "creature builder," helping construct full-bodied characters including walk-around characters for Sesame Street Live shows.
Gramann previously worked as a draper for Barbara Matera, Ltd. in New York City before joining Henson. He was also part of the puppet construction crew for Allegra's Window.
Gramann later relocated to Minneapolis, Minnesota, and since 2006, he has worked as a draper and tailor for the city's Guthrie Theater, and teaches costume technology at the University of Minnesota and patternmaking at Minneapolis College. He also runs his own costume company, Gramann Studios.
