Da Niao (大鸟) is a character on Zhima Jie, the Chinese co-production of Sesame Street. Da Niao is Big Bird's identical cousin. His name is actually a direct translation meaning "Big Bird".

Zhu Ming is the character's main performer. LaLa Ma provided dubbing for the character's scenes reused from Sesame Street.

Big Bird (Da Niao) is the American Big Bird’s cousin -- a tall, six-year-old, yellow bird who represents every child. He is enthusiastic, friendly, cheerful, and a bit slow at times. Children understand and identify with Big Bird’s excitement about new things and his disappointment when things don’t work out. They also see his willingness to try again, to correct his mistakes, and find solutions to problems through persistence. Da Niao lives in a nest in the park on Zhima Jie, and loves to eat birdseed cookies. His best friends are Little Plum and Hu Hu Zhu.
