"Dance of the Hours" is a short ballet that appears in the third act finale of Amilcare Ponchielli's opera La Gioconda. One of the most well-known and parodied pieces of classical music, it has appeared in Disney's 1929 Silly Symphony short Springtime as well as the company's 1940 feature Fantasia, the 1971 album Spike Jones is Murdering the Classics, and set to lyrics in Allan Sherman's 1963 hit novelty song "Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh (A Letter from Camp)".
- Baby Scooter and Skeeter set the tune to their own lyrics in the Muppet Babies episode "Sing a Song of Superheroes". The song becomes banter in the form of the two explaining how different they are from one another.
- Big Bird conducted the song at the Cleveland Orchestra, in 1983.
