"David's Circus" is a Sesame Street song written exclusively for the album David, Daydreamin' on a Rainy Day.
David discovers his old circus toy set while rummaging in his toy chest, recalling how he used to pretend the different pieces were his Sesame Street friends. He begins to imagine the titular circus ("the best show in town") and sings about what all his friends do in the show - Big Bird plays a clown, Maria walks the high wire, Bob flies on the trapeze, Gordon is the lion tamer, Susan rides a horse, Bert and Ernie feed the elephants, and finally Mr. Hooper does a dance.
