David Granger is a writer and editor who, early in his career, was a regular contributor to Muppet Magazine, writing the recurring column "Rowlf on Books." Since 1997, Granger has served as editor-in-chief for Esquire. In 1999, he spoke about his experience on Muppet Magazine:

I think what I learned from that job is what you learn from any first job. If you're lucky you work in a small place, which is what Walsh Publishing was at that time. And you learn everything. I did everything. But I also got to work with some pretty talented comedy writers. It's good to have a job, and that job taught me a lot about how writers and especially comedy writers work.[1]
