Legendary clown David Larible appeared in a Sesame Street segment with his daughter, during his time with the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. He is one of only four clowns to win the Gold Clown award, considered the profession's highest honor.
Owner Kenneth Feld decided to feature Larible as a solo act for the first time in their circus' history. He replaced Gunther Gebel Williams, another legend in the circus world, from 1991 to 2005.
Daughter Shirley Larible would eventually choose to train in the aerial straps act.
