Shirley and David Larible
David Larible (b. 1957) is a clown whose career included a 14 year stint with the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. He appeared in a 1996 Sesame Street insert with his daughter Shirley. (First: Episode 3529)
Larible is one of only four clowns to win the Gold Clown award, considered the profession's highest honor. He became the Ringling star performer in 1991 after Gunther Gebel-Williams retired.
Daughter Shirley Larible later became an aerialist.
