Daytime Emmy Awards and nominations that Jim Henson and the Muppets have received, primarily for Sesame Street and Bear in the Big Blue House. The daytime programming awards were created in 1974 as a companion to the prime-time Emmy Awards. The Muppets have also appeared at various Emmy Awards ceremonies.
Sesame Street has won 181 awards as of the 2020 ceremony, including its Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009. Other Lifetime Achievement Awards won by Sesame Street cast and crew include Joan Ganz Cooney in 1989/1990, Caroll Spinney in 2006, and Sonia Manzano in 2016.
Sesame Street has also won awards from the Primetime Emmy Awards. While a children's series, Fraggle Rock won at the International Emmy Awards.
From 2007 on, the children's awards were split off as the Children's Programming Emmy Awards, but they were still awarded on the same night as the main ceremony.[1] Beginning in 2022, the Emmys realigned their awards based on genre as opposed to when the program aired, to reflect the proliferation of streaming. As part of this, the Children's and Family Emmy Awards ceremony was moved to a separate time of the year than the Daytime Emmys.[2]
