"Dear Old Dad" is a Sesame Street song from Episode 2723.
Aided by an Anything Muppet cowpoke band and back-up singers Susan, Gordon, and Hiroshi, Forgetful Jones sings the song as a musical tribute to an important male figure in his life. All the lyrics rhyme with "ad," suggesting that he is referring to his dad, but he instead closes each verse by calling out his dear old dentist, then drummer, and driver. Everyone tells him the song needs to rhyme and he finally sings "my dear old dad." Forgetful points out the song was correct the whole time - his dad is a part-time dentist, drummer, and truck driver.
