DeliveryMan
PERFORMER Jerry Nelson
DEBUT 1974
PATTERN Large Lavender Live Hand

A talkative, slow-witted Delivery Man made a few appearances on Sesame Street during the 1970s. In an episode of "Here is Your Life," he delivers a loaf of bread to Guy Smiley, and is surprised to find himself inside a TV studio before being shooed away by Guy.

He later appeared in a 1976 episode, delivering some chairs and a table that Bob and Gordon use to play a game of "Here Are Some Things That Belong Together." They invite the delivery man to guess, but he doesn't catch on ("I don't get paid to play games, I get paid to deliver this stuff!"). Then, when Big Bird enters the scene, the delivery man becomes startled (exclaiming "Somebody call the newspapers!").
