Der Frosch mit der Maske in Der Wixxer
Der Wixxer is a 2004 German comedy, spoofing the long-running series of Edgar Wallace crime movies produced in Germany in the 1960s. One of the original Wallace films was Der Frosch mit der Maske (The Frog with the Mask), about a mysterious cloaked mastermind. In Der Wixxer, the character becomes, literally, a masked frog, designed as a loose caricature of Kermit the Frog, and voiced by Andreas von der Meden, the primary German voice of Kermit. At one point, "Der Frosch" excitedly shouts, "Applause! Applause!", a line which was used on Die Muppet Show in place of Kermit's English "Yaaaaaaaay."
