Dietermemel

Dieter Memel (b. 1951) is a German voice actor who dubbed Statler in the German dub of Muppets Haunted Mansion. He dubbed the water bailiff in the Creature Shop-effects film Loch Ness.

Memel began his performing career in East Berlin in the 1970s and 80s, appearing in state-produced television series (multiple appearances on Polizeiruf 110) and dubbing imports, primarily films from Italy and British TV series (Jewel in the Crown, an episode of the Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes) and later lending his voice to Robert Logan on Daniel Boone.

After the reunification of Germany, Memel stayed on in Berlin and subsequently alternated with dubbing work in Munich. He dubbed minor and guest roles on older US series The Lone Ranger, Perry Mason, Bonanza, and The Twilight Zone, moving on to Lou Grant, Matlock, and various Star Trek incarnations. He lent his voice to Corbin Bernsen in several films (including Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang) and guest spots including Boston Legal and Magnum, P.I., as well as Danny Trejo in four movies. He dubbed Doug Jones as Pan in Pan's Labyrinth, James Cromwell in Becoming Jane, Peter O'Toole in The Rainbow Thief, Fred Willard in Lovewrecked, Peter Billingsley in Spider-Man: Far from Home, and the CG character Arishem in Eternals.

Although TV dubbing has usually been in guest and minor episodic roles (including Roscoe Orman on Alpha House), Memel dubbed J. K. Simmons on the redub of Oz, Mitch Pileggi as Skinner on the revival of The X-Files, and Gerald McRaney on House of Cards. He dubbed roles in assorted anime, including the title character in Porco Rosso.
