"Different" is a showtune-inspired Sesame Street song performed by Prairie Dawn and Tyne Daly.

Prairie explains to Daly that her homework assignment is to think of things that are different and the same. They start singing about the differences between them, then their shared interests. Either way, they conclude that's what makes them unique and friends.

Notes

• The song was a substitute for "Everything's Coming Up Noses," which Daly was originally set to record.

• This segment was directed by Jon Stone and taped on July 17, 1990.
