D for Dinosaur, from The Sesame Street Dictionary.
Dinosaurs are a class of reptiles that dominated the Earth for over one hundred million years. Most varieties of dinosaur went extinct approximately 66 million years ago; however, as discussed on Episode 4608 of Sesame Street, modern birds are now considered to be a type of dinosaur.
A number of Muppet/Henson productions have featured prehistoric dinosaur characters, perhaps most notably the characters appearing in the 1991 TV series of the same name.
