Disney Magic Kingdoms is a mobile game released in March of 2016. The city-building game takes place at a Disney theme park, which has been cursed by Maleficent. As the player advances in the game, new characters and attractions are unlocked that the player can use to populate and decorate their park. The game includes regular time-limited "events" themed around a particular Disney movie or franchise, to introduce new characters into the game.
From December 14, 2023 to January 3, 2024, Disney Magic Kingdoms held a Muppets "mega-event" to introduce the Muppets. The following content was added during the event:
- Characters: Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Rowlf the Dog, Animal, and the Swedish Chef (The Swedish Chef was the premium character for the event, who could only be purchased directly, rather than unlocked by playing the game.)
- Attractions: Kermit's Swamp and Muppet*Vision 3D
- Concessions: Animal Mask Stand and Sam the Eagle Sipper Stand
- Parade Float: Dr. Teeth on a float decorated as the Electric Mayhem Bus
- Decorations: the Fork in the Road and a gold trophy shaped like Hardware Gonzo
Disney Magic Kingdoms held a second Muppets mega-event from November 7 to 28, 2024, adding more Muppet content:
- Characters: Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, Beaker, Pepe the King Prawn, Gonzo, and Fozzie Bear (premium)
- Attractions: Muppet Mobile Lab and Gonzo's Stunt Spectacular
- Concessions: Dragonfly Ripple and Honey Cones Stand and Peppermint Milkshake Stand
- Decorations: Kermit the Frog Topiary
A "tapper" mini-game in the 2023 event featured Orchestra Penguins. Another tapper mini-game in the 2024 event involved Gonzo being lifted by balloons.
