The Disney Wine & Dine 5K is an annual half marathon held at Epcot in Walt Disney World as a part of the annual Food & Wine Festival.
The 2024 marathon was held on November 3. The Swedish Chef was featured prominently in merchandise and theming for the weekend-long event.
During the day of the marathon itself, the Muppets (including Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Animal, Floyd Pepper, Uncle Deadly, Lew Zealand, Sam the Eagle, and some Muppet food) appeared in a series of pre-recorded videos played throughout the race. The Swedish Chef and a chicken appeared live before the race to help kick things off. Additional Muppet chicken puppets were also present for the event, providing photo opportunities and atmospheric entertainment. Sweetums (using the costume from Muppet*Vision 3D) was also present to cheer on racers at the finish line.
