Don Gillis is an American composer, living in Canada, who served as musical director and arranger on Fraggle Rock. While Phil Balsam and Dennis Lee composed most of the songs for the series, Gillis supplied the arrangements and composed the majority of the instrumental pieces and background cues. The character Gillis Fraggle was named after him. Gillis also served as musical director on The Tale of the Bunny Picnic and episodes of The Jim Henson Hour.
A trumpeter and pianist, Gillis wrote many arrangements for the Canadian Brass, including "The Joust," a Renaissance-style piece. His other television credits included music for the Disney Channel series Road to Avonlea and Wind at My Back.
