DESIGN | Jim Henson designer |
Doris[1] was an orange bird with large plumes on her head and purple eyelids who first appeared in the sketch "Birds in the Trees" from The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence. Although she chirped "Oh, really" in the sketch, Jim Henson's original drawing indicates that her call was originally "Oh yes."
After her first appearance, the puppet was modified with opened eyes.
