Doris Roberts (1925โ2016) was an Emmy Award-winning American character actress, familiar to many for playing mother Marie Barone on Everybody Loves Raymond. She appeared on Sesame Street, in a My Favorite Sesame Street Moments introduction to the television airing of The Street We Live On, and in the celebrity version of "Dance Myself to Sleep."
Roberts had previously co-starred with Pierce Brosnan on Remington Steele (as secretary Mildred Krebs), was a frequent guest on Barney Miller, and appeared on Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Full House, Desperate Housewives, and The Love Boat. Film credits include National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (with Chevy Chase), My Giant (with Billy Crystal), and The Rose (with Bette Midler).
Broadway credits included Last of the Red Hot Lovers (with Linda Lavin and James Coco), The Secret Affairs of Mildred Wild (with Florence Stanley), and Bad Habits (with F. Murray Abraham).
