Dr. Salamander, hypnotist and newt, appears in episode 520 of The Muppet Show. He levitates Pops, floating him up to the ceiling.
He was rebuilt from a generic Whatnot character (performed by Steve Whitmire) used in the "Do-Re-Mi" sketch from the show's third season, and was first used as one of the Sleeze Brothers.
