- At the 2012 gala, held on February 6 at the Pierre Hotel, Kristin Chenoweth kissed Elmo on the red carpet, and Eden Espinosa sang "For Good" from Wicked with Elmo. John Tartaglia quipped in a Broadway World segment that he was double dating with Elmo. In the same clip, Elmo says the thing he most likes about Chenoweth, who was being honored, is that she's the same size as him.
- Abby Cadabby and Telly Monster attended the 2014 gala, held on February 3 at the Pierre Hotel and honoring Neil Patrick Harris. Leslie Carrara-Rudolph and Martin P. Robinson sang a "re-written version" of "Bein' Green" called "It’s Not Easy Being Neil.”[1]
- On November 6, 2017, Kermit the Frog appeared at the 34th annual gala at the Plaza Hotel, honoring Steve Martin. Kermit appeared sitting on a stool, playing his banjo and singing "Tonight You Belong to Me." Other performers included Ed Helms and Carol Kane. Ryan Dillon assisted Matt Vogel in performing Kermit for the show.[2]
